These photos were all taken in various locations but using the Nikon D3100 dslr body and a lot of patience. Typically my settings for capturing such a rapid event like lightning consist of: setting the shutter to BULB, the aperture to f/5.6, and ISO to 400 and focus is usually manual. Another technique it to capture the storm on video then extract photos in post-processing (not as fun).
